Cultural Couture: Discovering The World Through Paper Dolls- 01/08 to 02/12
Inspired by District 103’s remarkable diversity, with families representing 67 countries and 45 languages, this class celebrates the vibrant cultural tapestry within our community. Through the medium of paper dolls, students will explore the rich traditions of clothing from around the globe. Each week, we’ll focus on a different region, learning about its unique history of cultural clothing and iconic garments. Regions to be explored include the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Far East and the Indian Subcontinent.This creative journey will not only showcase the beauty of diverse clothing traditions but also foster an appreciation for the global cultures that make up our school district. By the end of the class, students will have crafted a collection of paper dolls dressed in traditional styles, symbolizing the unity and beauty found in diversity. The maximum number of students will be 15. Material fee: $10
